Biography

Born in Switzerland to Lebanese and French parents, Philippe’s passion for film led him to the UK where he studied cinema at the University of Nottingham and Drama Centre London (Central Saint Martins).

Following his first work experiences at Fox Searchlight and Lionsgate Studios in L.A., Philippe released his independent debut feature 'Wasp' (2015) which screened at festivals world-wide, securing distribution in several territories. His latest short fiction ‘Ruby Red’ (2020) is currently touring festivals, having already earned several awards.

In parallel, Philippe has taken part in the Berlinale Talents scheme (2016), ventured into producing ('Butterfly Kisses', Crystal Bear Winner 2017) and attended the FEMIS’ screenwriter’s program (Atelier Scénario, 2020-21).

In addition to his filmmaking work, Philippe explores photography and fine art. His latest art piece, ‘The Shattered’ (2020), focuses on the Beirut port explosion and is exhibited at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris.

Né en Suisse de parents Libanais et Français, sa passion pour le 7ème art mène Philippe au Royaume-Uni où il étudie de cinéma à l’Université de Nottingham et Drama Centre London (Central Saint Martins).

Riche de ses premières expériences de travail à Fox Searchlight et Lionsgate Studios à L.A, Philippe tourne un premier long métrage indépendant ‘Wasp’ (2015) qui fait le tour des festivals et trouve distribution dans plusieurs territoires. ‘Ruby Red’ (20), son dernier court-métrage de fiction parcourt en ce moment les festivals, ayant déjà amassé plusieurs prix.

En parallèle, Philippe a pris part au programme de Berlinale Talents (2016), fait ses premiers pas dans la production (‘Butterfly Kisses’, Ours de Crystal 2017) et complété l’Atelier Scénario de la FEMIS (2020-21).

En plus de son travail de réalisateur, Philippe explore les arts plastiques ainsi que la photographie. Sa dernière oeuvre, ‘Les Brisés’ (2020), fait partie de la collection de l’Institut du Monde Arabe à Paris.
